Writer Garrison Keillor made this observation on a train journey he took in a recent article:

“I walked the length of the westbound Lake Shore Limited as it left Albany last Sunday, six crowded coaches, and counted three Twitterers and a couple of phone texters, six laptoppers (two of whom were watching movies), four video gamers, and 27 people reading books. Books made of paper! Turning the pages with their fingers one by one, reading the lines left to right, just as people have done for hundreds of years. Ain't that something?

I didn't lean down for a close look at the books they were reading -- I was not brought up to do that -- so perhaps bodices were being ripped and stalkers were stalking and meteorites were heading straight for Earth, but no matter. Books were being read!”

Keillor was pleasantly surprised that the most popular choice of diversion on that train journey was the humble book. However, is it really so surprising that people would still choose reading over more “exciting” and “high tech” pastimes such as twittering and video gaming?

While twittering and phone texting has its fair share of fans, men’s love and passion for books and reading is far from dead!

1) Where do you get your books from?
Our books are sourced from an established distributor, who distributes to most of the major book retailers in Singapore. Our close ties with the distributor ensures that we get the best available price.

2) May I visit your bookstore?
We do not have a physical store at the moment. However, not operating from brick and mortar ensures that we keep our overheads low. This allows us to pass on considerable savings to you when you purchase books from Studee eSHOP.

3) How do I buy from your eSHOP?
There are two ways to do so:
a) You may browse through our list of bestsellers which are updated regularly. You may then pay by Credit/Debit Card or via Paypal. The prices quoted are inclusive of delivery charges. Delivery will be made to your specified address.
b) You may send us a enquiry email with the details of your desired book and we will get back to you as soon as possible with an email request for payment. Prices are inclusive of delivery charges. Your order will be processed upon payment.

4) When can I receive the book after payment?
From past experiences, books are delivered within one week. However, as inventory fluctuates daily, we are not able to guarantee that books purchased online would be delivered immediately. In the event of such scenario, you will be informed of any possible delay, and you will receive a full refund if you wish to withdraw from the transaction. Refunds will be made via cheque or paypal.

5) Can I collect the books from you somewhere?
As we currently do not have a physical store or a partner store, such options are limited. However, under exceptional scenario, and when manpower permits, our staff will be able to meet you at a specified location to pass you the book. To preserve integrity of the transaction, our staff is not allowed to collect cash from you. Therefore, all payment must be made to Studee prior to meeting you.

6) Are you based in Singapore?
Absolutely. Studee eSHOP operates under the domain of Studee.com.sg, which is fully owned by Multitude Pte. Ltd, a ACRA-registered company (Co. Reg. No. 200909763H)
